The noble step has just
been done by Microsoft. They try to apply artificial intelligence technology to
help the visually impaired 'see' around it.
The company, based in
Redmound, United States, released an application called Seeing AI. Through this
application, the blind can be told what objects are in the vicinity.
This app will use the
rear camera of the phone to perform scanning. After scanning, the user just
listens to the description to be read by the phone. As a result, those with
poor vision are more helpful to know what is around them.
Talking about Seeing
AI's own ability, this app can not only scan people complete with what they
wear, but also their emotions. In addition, as shown on video, this app can
scan various texts, barcodes and even currency.
Unfortunately this
newly released Microsoft app for iOS platform. There is no information whether
this application will be visited Android.
But seeing Microsoft
under the leadership of Satya Nadella, most likely this application will also
be made for the Android version. While waiting we see first full video about
this Seeing AI application.
